It was great to see Van the Man at work. The music is very pure. I had hoped for some more hits like brown eyed girl and bright side of the road but I understand his choice. It was a compact concert, which means there was no intermission. A lot of work went on and it ended at 9:45 p.m. Everyone went home, it seemed, I would have liked to keep drinking. It was nostalgic, I worked for Van as a young assistant product manager at Phonogram at the end of 1979 and he was always very friendly to me even though he had a grumpy reputation. Het was geweldig om Van the Man bezig te zien. De muziek heel puur. Ik had gehoopt op nog wat hits als brown eyed girl en bright side of the road maar ik begrijp zijn keuze, Het was een compact concert dat wil zeggen dat er geen pauze was. er werd flink doorgewerkt en om 21.45 was het afgelopen. Iedereen ging naar huis leek het, ik had best wat willen blijven drinken. Het was nostalgisch, ik heb eind 1979 nog voor Van gewerkt als jong assistent product manager bij Phonogram en hij was altijd erg vriendelijk tegen mij al had hij een grumpy reputatie.
