Went to Typhoon yesterday. The combination with the Amsterdam Sonfinietta was magical. Wonderful how the 22 strings frame Typhoon's rhythmic lyrics. Very nicely done. It was an atmospheric concert with goosebumps here and there. Jef Neve's piano playing was virtuoso but had a somewhat high Richard Clayderman content here and there. Too bad that Typhoon's lyrics were not always easy to understand, at least not from where we were sitting. Because they are so beautiful and touch the soul. Gisteren naar Typhoon geweest. De combinatie met het Amsterdam Sonfinietta was magisch. Prachtig hoe de 22 strijkers de ritmische teksten van Typhoon omlijsten. Heel knap gedaan. Het was een sfeervol concert met hier en daar kippenvel-momenten. Het pianospel van Jef Neve was virtuoos maar had hier en daar een wat hoog Richard Clayderman gehalte. Jammer dat de teksten van Typhoon niet altijd goed te verstaan waren, althans niet vanaf de plek waar wij zaten. Ze zijn namelijk zo mooi en raken de ziel.
