I was introduced to this musical as early as the seventies, as a film and on the LP. Often watched the movie again just before Easter and shot the LP. We sat high up on the first balcony, so we could see everything clearly. The choreography was so fantastic to experience. Al in de jaren zeventig heb ik kennis gemaakt met deze musical, als film en op de l.p. Dikwijls vlak voor Pasen de film weer bekeken en de l.p. gedraaid. Pas nu verstond ik elk woord en werd de betekenis me echt helder, kon ik ook lijnen trekken naar onze tijd nu. Achteraf werd me pas duidelijk dat Ivo van Hove de regie heeft gedaan. Had ik kunnen weten, gezien een door hem geregisseerde opera, die ik een aantal maanden geleden zag. Ontroerend en krachtig vond ik de rol van Maria Magdalena. Ik had te doen met Judas die een soort spiegel, maar dan omgekeerd, leek van Jezus. Sterke beelden, mooie stiltes, puur toneel. We zaten hoog, op het eerste balkon, konden daardoor alles goed zien. De choreografie was zo fantastisch te beleven.

The ticket said €69 and paid €99??? A big difference. Op de ticket stond € 69 en hebben € 99 betaald??? Een groot verschil.
